About Us
The Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation (GLAEF) is the premier philanthropic partner of the Los Angeles County Office of Education (LACOE) and the school districts served throughout the county.
GLAEF is an independent non-profit organization, intended to operate autonomously from LACOE, but in the service to it. Supporting its regional agenda and mission to advance equity and innovation in education across Los Angeles County, GLAEF expands the impact of LACOE, the largest regional education agency in the nation, by engaging a diverse range of partners to navigate countywide and local complexities.
By fostering systems-level innovation, building cross-sector partnerships, and encouraging creative problem-solving, the GLAEF team addresses some of LA County’s greatest educational equity challenges. The foundation understands that no one entity– whether philanthropic, private or nonprofit– can alone address the distinct needs of LA County students, families, educators and leaders.

How We Work
GLAEF prioritizes the following four key strategies to have the greatest impact in supporting educational systems in preparing LA County students for success in college, career and beyond.
01
Collect, analyze, and make learning from data accessible to districts, families, and partners.
03
Strengthen and/or develop partnerships between districts, county and public agencies, families, and communities to design collective impact solutions.
02
Convene and network districts to share knowledge and implement collective solutions.
04
Advocate and offer culturally and contextually relevant policy solutions to solve local, state and common issues.
